Understanding Your Sewer Bill & Online Payments
Sewer billing is based on your property’s water usage and local rate structure, which may include fixed service charges and usage-based fees. Bills are issued on a monthly cycle, with the due date clearly printed on your statement. Late payments may result in penalties or interest, so it is important to review each bill promptly.

Sewer Bill Adjustment Policy
The Town may allow a one-time sewer bill adjustment within a twelve (12) month period for customers who experience unusually high water usage that results in an increased sewer charge.
Eligibility for Adjustment
Sewer bill adjustments may be considered under the following conditions:
-
Leaks or excess water usage that significantly increase water consumption
-
Temporary high water usage, including but not limited to:
-
Filling swimming pools
-
Operating irrigation systems
-
Approval of an adjustment is at the Town's discretion.
Adjustment Calculation Method
The adjustment is calculated using the following method:
-
Determine the customer's average sewer usage for the previous six (6) months.
-
Subtract this six-month average from the sewer charge during the period of excessive usage.
-
The Town will identify the highest month of excessive usage and may refund fifty percent (50%) of the amount above the six-month average.
Example Calculation
-
Sewer bill: $250.00
-
Six-month average sewer charge: $100.00
-
Amount above average: $250.00 − $100.00 = $150.00
-
Adjustment (50% of excess): $150.00 ÷ 2 = $75.00 refund
Multiple Billing Periods
If the leak or excess usage spans two consecutive billing periods, the Town may adjust both months accordingly, using the same calculation method.
